This year’s Indian Premier League is going to be a little extra special as it will feature the 1000th IPL Match. This match is scheduled to take place on May 6. Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings will clash against each other for the special game. The match is supposed to take place at Chennai’s home ground, MA Chidambaram Stadium at 3:30 pm.
This will be Chennai and Mumbai’s second clash of the season. The first one will take place on April 8 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Mumbai Indians will be captained by the Current Indian captain, Rohit Sharma whereas Chennai Super Kings will be captained by the former Indian captain, MS Dhoni. This year the Indian Premier League will be returning to its traditional format; home and away matches since 2019. 10 teams are participating in IPL this year as well and the Teams are divided into two groups just like last year. Teams from one group will play other group’s teams twice and teams of their own group once making it a total of 14 league matches each.
