The 2023 NFL draft is still a few months away, but it’s never too early to start thinking about which college players will be making the jump to the pros. This 2023 NFL mock draft takes a look at some of the top prospects and where they may end up.
2023 NFL Mock Draft Prospects
- Cleveland Browns: Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson
The Browns have been searching for a franchise quarterback for years, and Lawrence would be the perfect fit. He has all the tools to be a star in the NFL, including a strong arm, accuracy, and leadership skills. He’s also been incredibly productive in college, leading Clemson to a national championship in 2018 and being a finalist for the Heisman Trophy in 2019 and 2020.
- New York Giants: Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon
Sewell is considered one of the best offensive tackle prospects to come out in the last decade. He’s a dominant run blocker and has the quickness and agility to handle pass rushers on the edge. The Giants have struggled to protect their quarterback in recent years and Sewell would be a huge upgrade on the offensive line.
- New York Jets: Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State
The Jets have a lot of holes on their roster, but none is more important than finding a quarterback. Fields has the potential to be a top-10 NFL quarterback. He’s a strong-armed pocket passer with the ability to make plays with his legs. He’s also a leader and a winner, leading Ohio State to the National Championship Game in 2020.
- Miami Dolphins: Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State
Parsons is a freakishly athletic linebacker who can do it all. He’s fast and agile, which allows him to cover running backs and tight ends in the passing game. He’s also a sure tackler and a physical presence against the run. The Dolphins have a solid defense but adding Parsons would make it elite.
- Atlanta Falcons: Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech
Farley is a tall and long corner who has the ability to shut down top wide receivers. He’s also a willing tackler and has the speed to make plays on the ball. The Falcons have a lot of holes on their roster but adding Farley would be a step in the right direction for rebuilding their defense.
- Cincinnati Bengals: Rashawn Slater, OT, Northwestern
Slater is a versatile offensive lineman who can play either guard or tackle. He’s a dominant run blocker and has the quickness and agility to handle pass rushers on the edge. The Bengals have struggled to protect their quarterback in recent years and Slater would be a huge upgrade on the offensive line.
- Washington Football Team: Gregory Rousseau, Edge, Miami
Rousseau is a physical freak who has the size, speed, and strength to be a dominant edge rusher in the NFL. He’s also a hard worker and a leader, which will make him a valuable asset to any team. The Washington Football Team needs to upgrade its pass rush and Rousseau would be a great fit.
- Carolina Panthers: Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida
Pitts is the best tight end prospect to come out in years. He’s a matchup nightmare for defenses, with his size and speed. He’s also a reliable receiver and a willing blocker. The Panthers need to surround their quarterback with more weapons and Pitts would be a great addition to their offense.
