Gujarat Titans on 24th May defeated Rajasthan Royals and reached their maiden IPL final. Both the teams faced each other in the first Qualifier of IPL 2022. Rajasthan Royals will now face the winner of Eliminator on 27th May.
Batting first, Rajasthan Royals lost their first wicket in the first over in the form of Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jos Butler went on to score 89 off 56 balls and was the top scorer for Rajasthan. The Royals set up a target of 189 for the Titans after scoring 188-6 in 20 overs.
Chasing 189, Titans too lost their first wicket in the very first over. This time Wriddhiman Saha was the one who got out after a cracker of a ball from Trent Boult. 16 runs were needed off the final over with David Miller and Hardik Pandya at the crease. The left-handed Miller smashed each of Prasidh Krishna’s first three balls for six to bring the house down at a fully packed Eden Gardens. “Killer Miller” smashed three fours and five sixes in his 38-ball knock and helped his team win the first Qualifier by 7 wickets.
