To date, India and Pakistan have played only 8 matches in the T20 World Cup history. India enjoys a record of 7-1 against Pakistan. Both arch-rivals last played in the ICC World Cup 2024 where the Indian team won the match by just 6 runs.

India lost their first-ever T20 World Cup match against Pakistan in T20 World Cup 2021. Pakistan had won the toss and invited India to bat first. India set up a target of 152 runs for Pakistan in 20 overs. Virat Kohli was the top scorer for India scoring 57 off 49 balls. Pakistan chased it quite easily and won their first-ever ICC World Cup match against India.

India repaid the debt after defeating Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2022. Virat Kohli once again smashed the Pakistani bowlers all around the ground. He helped India chase down a target of 160 runs on the last ball scoring a magnificent 82* off 53 balls.

India again faced Pakistan in the Group Stage of the T20 World Cup 2024. It was a low-scoring match where batting first India could only manage 119 runs in 20 overs. In response, Pakistan could only score 113 runs in their quota of 20 overs. India won the match with Jasprit Bumrah being declared the Man of the Match. He picked up 3 wickets for just 14 runs.
