Kevin Pietersen has reversed his decision to retire from all forms of cricket. The South African-born English batsman had earlier announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.
The 32-year-old batsman had even hinted last week that the upcoming third and final Test against South Africa could be his last.
“I’ve been through a very difficult period,” Pietersen admitted.
He talked about a “change of heart”, adding: “I love winning for England.”
“I want to commit to all forms of cricket for England because I love playing cricket for England. He reiterated several times his resolve to play all three formats of cricket for England. He also expressed regret over the comments he made in the press conference on Monday evening post the Headingley Test match where he scored a century as England drew with South Africa.” Pietersen said in an interview.
“I love being part of a successful England team – we are a successful team,” Pietersen continued.
“It would be really sad to end a career like this so sitting down with my family, my advisers, and my close friends we’ve decided and I’ve decided that it would be a lot better to finish my career in England on a positive note rather than one that’s being developed at the moment.”
