Rajat Patidar helps RCB advance, to face Rajasthan in Qualifier 2

Rajat Patidar’s sensational century powered Royal Challengers Bangalore to a 14-run victory over KL Rahul led Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League eliminator.

Patidar who came to bat at no.3 smashed 12 fours and seven sixes in his innings of 112, off 54 balls. His innings helped Bangalore post a compelling total of 207.

Apart from Patidar, Dinesh Karthik was the only batsman who looked in good touch for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He scored 37* off 23 balls with 5 fours and 1 six.

Lucknow lost their first wicket early in the form of Quinton De Kock. After that, all the responsibility was on the skipper KL Rahul to take his team to the win. Rahul scored 79 off 58 balls. He was caught out while playing a lap shot to Josh Hazelwood in the 19th over. He smashed 3 fours and 5 sixes in his innings.

Josh Hazlewood was the pick of the bowlers, collecting 3-43 as Lucknow fell short by 14 runs. He took the crucial wickets of Manan Vohra, KL Rahul, and Krunal Pandya.

Royal Challengers Bangalore will now face Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2 of IPL 2022. The match will take place on the 27th of May.
