IPL Points Table 2023: An Overview
Gujarat Titans topped the Tata IPL Points Table 2023 with 20 points to their name. They won 10 matches out of 14 matches. Their Net Run Rate was 0.809. This was Gujarat’s second consecutive season topping the table. They also were table toppers in IPL 2022.
Gujarat Titans, led by Hardik Pandya, was the first team to qualify for the playoffs in IPL 2023. The team showed brilliance in all departments and displayed an overall outstanding performance throughout the season.
Chennai Super Kings finished second on the IPL 2023 Points Table with 17 points. They won 8 matches, lost 5, and one was washed out due to rain against the Lucknow Super Giants. They were tied at 17 points with Lucknow Super Giants but had a superior run rate and thus were second on the table. They had a run rate of 0.652.
Lucknow Super Giants were placed in the third position in the Tata IPL Points Table 2023 with 17 points as well. Their run rate was 0.284. Their captain KL Rahul got injured mid-season and was ruled out of the competition. Krunal Pandya then led the team and took them to the playoffs. This was Lucknow’s second consecutive playoffs.
Mumbai Indians secured fourth place in the Tata IPL 2023 Points Table and barely managed to reach the playoffs this season. They had 16 points after winning 8 matches with a Net Run Rate of -0.044. Their fate was in the hands of Royal Challengers Bangalore, who could have secured a place in the playoffs had they won their last game against the Gujarat Titans.
Who will Top the Tata IPL Points Table 2023?
Mumbai Indians
The five-time IPL champions are obviously the favourites to top the Tata IPL 2023 Points Table. With the likes of captain Rohit Sharma, Suryakymar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, and Jofra Archer, among others, they have a pretty good chance to not only top the table but to win the trophy as well. They had a pretty good auction and signed some really good talents this year, like Cameron Green & Jhye Richardson. Last season Mumbai finished at the bottom of the table with just 8 points to their name. But they will hope to turn things around this year. Sadly, Jasprit Bumrah will not be a part of IPL this year as he underwent back surgery earlier this year.

Chennai Super Kings
A lot of experts and fans are speculating that this could be Thala Dhoni’s last IPL, and he will be passing the torch to someone else. That’s why Chennai players will hope to give Dhoni a nice parting gift. Last year Chennai finished at the bottom of the table above just Mumbai Indians with 8 points to their name. But this year, they have purchased some big names in the auction. Ben Stokes and Kyle Jamieson are some of the interesting names. With Moeen Ali, Ben Stokes, and Ravindra Jadeja, they have good all-round options in their team.

Gujarat Titans
Tata IPL 2022 Champions are obviously the favourites to top the Tata IPL Points Table 2023. Gujarat also finished at the top of the points table in IPL 2022 and was the first team to qualify for the playoffs. This year they have strengthened their Middle Order which was the only weak point in their squad. They bought Kane Williamson and Srikar Bharat in the auction, who will give a boost to their middle order so that their finishers can do their job.
